Subject - ASSIST Neighbourhood Care: needs more volunteers

Posted : (Tuesday 22nd August 2006 ) By - Jane (Registered User)ASSIST needs more help in the Withington and Fallowfield area. Volunteers are trained and supported to provide practical help to older and disabled people in the area. There are particular opportunities for:
- Driving your own vehicle to transport people and be paid expenses via a mileage allowance;
- Helping at a new Seated Exercise Class (Friday mornings from September 15th) and the ongoing Tuesday Social and Lunch Club;
- Gardening with/for people; and
- Befriending visits to people in their own homes.
