Subject - Global Village campaign

Posted : (Tuesday 12th December 2006 ) By - Jane (Registered User)Global Village is where all children's needs are met throughout childhood, whatever their race, religion or however complex their needs. Encouraging community cohesion, Global Village is a national campaign that gives people the chance to explore cultures and traditions from all over the world.

The campaign encourages volunteers and community groups to develop positive relationships amongst people of different backgrounds in the community; breaking down barriers and providing a great chance for people to get together through themes that all people love – food and fun! Build a Global Village by simply hosting an international coffee morning or even by celebrating fascinating customs like Chinese New Year or Diwali festival of light, and enjoy a multicultural event with a difference!

Global Village is a campaign set-up by the Caudwell Charity which works to help the lives of children in desperate need: those with severe disabilities and illness. Last year the Charity helped 914 children with a total of 106 different conditions, and this achievement heavily relies on the support of volunteers. Every single penny you raise goes directly towards helping the children of the charity as all management and administrative costs are covered by the founder, John Caudwell.

Communities can use Global Village as a great fundraising tool to raise money for a child who desperately needs medical treatment or equipment in their area. Please contact the Global Village Campaign Team on 01782 600 113 or globalvillage@caudwell.com for further details.
