Summer 2009 will see the largest, most wide ranging and inclusive arts festival Manchester has yet seen; The Not Part Of Festival.

From established and fringe venues, artists of every discipline will grab the chance to use this new platform to demonstrate their underground, exciting, fresh, modern work. The festival is a collaborative movement borne out of the opportunity that the Manchester International Festival has created for the benefit of both the people and city of Manchester.

To build towards this (and on the successes of last summer’s Not Part Of Manchester International Festival www.notmanchesterinternationalfestival.co.uk and January’s Not Part
Of New Years Eve www.myspace.com/notpartofnye) we are pleased to
announce this years Not Part Of Festival (3rd till 12th July 2008).

By ensuring that the Not Part Of Festival is open and inclusive and dedicated to removing barriers for artists we are ensuring that this festival is true to Manchester’s ideals.’

We have already proven that there is the appetite and creative pool to sustain it within the artistic community of Manchester. And right now; due in part to the recent successes of MIF, Not Part Of MIF, the Re:Play festival, Studio Salford, etc; combined with the excitement of the opening of mediacity:uk and the BBC’s move to Salford; is exactly the right time to launch it into the public consciousness in order for it to be a part of Manchester’s future for many years to come.

We are looking for artists, creators, venues, acts, promoters, etc who want to be involved with a festival that will not profit from them but provide a platform for them to promote themselves and all the other artists involved. We place no artistic constraints on creators other than they take the Not Part Of Oath to support all the other artists that have done the same.

If you’ve an idea for an event then we’ll give you all the help and advice we can. Instead of being one event in isolation, be part of something bigger and stronger; be Not Part Of.’
