Subject - Bogus Council Workers Targetting South Manchester Homes

In Withington:
Two unknown offenders approached the property stating that they were from the council and were there to cut back the trees at the rear of the a/ps property. The offenders told the resident they needed £80 to cover the deposit for the work. The offenders entered the rear garden and started to chop a branch, once the resident gave them the money they advise they will return to finish the job once it stopped raining. The offenders then leave the rear garden and never return.


Description of offenders:
1) white male 5 06ft medium build wearing a dirty white woolen bob hat with 3/4 inch red horizontal stripe running across its middle hat was turned up at the bottom. The male was clean shaven, wearing a high vis jacket/vest, dark trousers, aged 30 -35 yrs irish accent.
2) white male 5 04 ft early 20's slim build short black curly hair round face pale complexion clean shaven wearing a high vis jacket.
Using a old style white transit van possibly A or J registration
