The Manchester Organic Market launched in Piccadilly Gardens on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th March from 10am until 6pm. It will then run the third Friday and Saturday of each month. Fresh and tasty produce will be available including meat, poultry, cakes, bread, fruit and vegetables. Carol Owens, an organic cook will be whipping up dishes with organic ingredients from the market for shoppers to see and taste. Demonstrations will be at 11am, 1pm and 3pm both days and there will be a steady stream of organic crudités and dips for all to try! Recipe cards will also be available on Carol's stall with a shopping list of what to buy from the market to recreate the dishes. The market will initially start off as a small venture to allow the organic producers to familiarise themselves with what consumers are interested in. Manchester Markets is keen to support local producers as well as offering customers in the city a choice. Christine Peart will be selling organic soups, Jim Hadwin from Mansergh Hall in Kirby Lonsdale will be selling meat from his organic farm and the North West Organic Centre will be representing all producers in the North West with a local and organic directory. We look forward to seeing you there!
