An exciting new venture for Manchester - Wheelchair Dance Classes! The classes start on Saturday 27th Feb, Manchester Enterprise Academy, Wythenshawe. A partnership project with the Cultural Regen Officer in Wythenshawe, South Manchester Healthy Living Network, the Disability Sports Manager (Manchester), our local Community Activator and a local dance tutor, to launch a pilot wheelchair dancing session. This starts on 27th Feb, is from 11am – 1pm and will be at Manchester Enterprise Academy, Wythenshawe. Wheelchair Dancing is hopefully going to be big news, as BBC 3 are about to run a Strictly Come Wheelchair Dancing series of programmes based on the popular Strictly Come Dancing. We know there is very little wheelchair dancing in Manchester, in fact in the north of England! This new group is open to all ages and to anyone in Manchester. We are looking for able- bodied dancers as well as wheelchair users, as the dancing will be duo as well as combi dancing. Our tutor is a member of the Wheelchair Dancing Association and is an internationally recognised teacher and judge of ballroom, latin and other styles of dancing. Manchester Enterprise Academy is easy to reach and is accessible. From Manchester City Centre - straight down Princess Parkway, come off for Wythenshawe at Junction 4, turn left at the top of the slip road, and the Academy is on your left just before the Forum.
