Everyone has something to say - about where they live, what they're experiencing, and what they want to see happen. Our Community Reporters’ programme gives people a platform to tell these stories online.
We work with individuals from all kinds of communities to give them a voice and build their confidence in the use of social media tools.
Reporters learn how to produce content with new social media such as blogs, podcasts, films and wikis, and use everything from mobile phones to video cameras and webcams. Stories are distributed through our online networks, meaning that those voices can be heard by anyone online.
Community reporters can be local active individuals or participants in our training programmes.

I’ve been getting a number of hits lately for “zorbing Manchester”, something I mentioned briefly last September.
For those who think that rolling downhill at 60kmph in a giant plastic bubble is a Good Idea (it’s supposedly a summer pursuit after all), you’ll be glad to hear that the...

The annual competition, hosted by Urbis, ‘celebrates innovation in art, music and fashion’. This deliberately broad scope means art,...

‘Paulasville’ is not about a house on a hill, but a city gone down it. This is Zion Young Actors Company’s debut performance and I think they’re gonna grow us.
This atmospheric gritty production starts off well, with good audience interaction and the visual effects from 3 projectors...

I’ve touched on psychogeography here a few times before and, what with it getting mainstream coverage of late, it’s convenient that Manchester is currently hosting not one but two psychogeography festivals.
Territories Reimagined: International Perspectives, or TRIP for short, runs from Thursday 19 June until Saturday (and beyond) and...

I met John Vidal (Environment Editor for the Guardian) at Westminster Abbey yesterday, he wants me to send him an article 650-750 words on what problems the Pool face, what barriers do we face in achieving environmental reform in Manchester, that kind of thing. Please send in any comments to...
