Revd Dennis Nadin (Unregistered User) Burnage Heritage is building up an archive of old photographs of Burnage people, places and events. If required these can be scanned at high resolution and returned. We are trying to collect photos of as many old Burnage residents as possible and are particulary concerned with the pre 1950 period though later photographs will eventually be part of history.
Will you search your own collections of photos and see if there is anything there which might be appropriate?
Burnage Heritage is also building up a collection of memories of Burnage in the past. They can be in writing or on tape or disc. The aim is to tell ordinary people's stories of their life in Burnage not just the important people and events.
Sadly so much has been lost. Please help us to preserve what is left.
We produce booklets on some of our findings. There have been seven Burnage Miscellanies and another is due by Christmas. They are in A4 format 28 pages and cost just £2 each from Burnage Library or £2 + postage from Burnage Heritage. They are well illustrated. We also publish larger booklets each year on particular topics. Ask us for a complete list if you are interested?
If you can publicise our work either by putting up a poster or mentioning it to local organisations to which you belong or to friends and neighhbours, we would appreciate it.
