The Living City

Have your say on a new Regeneration Plan for South Manchester

Over the past eight months, Manchester City Council together with its partners has been developing a Strategic Regeneration Framework (SRF) for South Manchester. The SRF is a long-term regeneration plan (10-15 years) that outlines a vision for the area and describes how this vision will be realised through a series of key aims and objectives. In doing this it will look at physical, social and economic issues that exist within the area.

The South Manchester SRF includes approximately one third of the city’s population and covers ten wards. These are Burnage, Chorlton, Chorlton Park, Didsbury East, Didsbury West, Fallowfield, Levenshulme, Old Moat, Whalley Range and Withington.

The vision for South Manchester is ‘Protecting, building and extending the number of successful urban neighbourhoods to attract and retain professionals, key workers (such as teachers and nurses) and knowledge workers through the overarching theme of ‘The Living City’.
